Position
Position Title: Loans Officer
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager
The loan officer is responsible for the organic growth of the branch loan portfolio by meeting and exceeding assigned monthly loan targets while mitigating and controlling delinquency. In doing so, it ensures portfolio growth and revenue generation of sales from an increased portfolio as well as penetrating the market share. Develops and administers customer and prospect relationships. Responsible for identifying relevant new business opportunities and designing "go-to-market" plans to deliver measurable and significant revenues. Pursues sales opportunities in the market and carries the baton at the beginning of the sales cycle. Loan officers are needed for the following locations: Discovery Bay, Lucea, Savanna-La-Mar, Falmouth & Barbican.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Interview prospective loan customers in and outside the branch to preapprove loan clients for various loan products.
- Analyze the applicant’s financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine the feasibility of granting loans.
- Evaluate and assess the borrower’s business history, income sources and credit report, and the amount of debt he/she carries and payments.
- Determines if a borrower’s financial ratios, such as debt-to-income ratio, meet the company’s lending standards.
- For collateral loans, the Loan Officer is responsible for evaluating the asset's condition.
- Inform borrowers of loans approved or declined and inform customers of additional requirements required for loan assessment.
- Develop creative strategies to retain clients, including interviewing them to gather feedback and incorporate it into the growth plan.
- Researching the market to identify new business opportunities
- Explain to prospective clients the advantages of the products or services offered and following up with them to close the business deals
- Manage customer calls and appointments effectively for new opportunities
- Participate in industry forums, client discussions, and conferences as a representative of the organization
- Set up with the help of Marketing, desks at different organizations to promote the business as well as to get new leads for loan target growth.
- Any other reasonable duties assigned by the branch manager.
Qualifications
Education level & Experience
- A first degree in Business Administration or related field
- Minimum three years’ work experience in a similar or comparative position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

The Branch Manager has the responsibility for the overall leadership of the branch, to attain and exceed targets relative to business growth, service delivery, operational excellence and staff engagement while maintaining and adhering to the companies’ policies and procedures.

Description
| Main duties and responsibilities |
- Liaise and meet frequently with Business Development Manager to ensure cohesion with the company’s set out objectives and targets to ensure efficiency as well as to share new ideas.
- Supports the business development efforts of the branch through meeting with local business professionals, companies and key business owners and speaking at member functions and responding to correspondence if necessary.
- Responsible for meeting with Branch staff regularly including performance reviews with Business Development Representatives and Administrative Assistant.
- Prepare weekly planner & reports to send out to Business Development Manager, which track performance in loan growth and delinquency management.
- Create and promote a culture of superior engagement and service for the branch, through continuous motivation, guidance and coaching of employees
- Ensure that all client issues/inquiries reported to the Branch are properly addressed and resolved.
- Work closely with Business Development Manager in the development, implementation, and support of branch training plans.
- In Conjunction with Collections and Legal Officer, review poor performing loans and take necessary steps to mitigate risk of bad debt loans.
- Review & sign off on petty cash receipts.
- Review daily collections.
- Conduct interviews with prospective loan clients both in-branch and off-site to assess their eligibility for various loan products.
- Evaluate applicants' financial status, credit history, and property assessments to determine loan feasibility and pre-approval eligibility.
- Research the market for identifying new business and opportunities.
- Performs other duties that may be requested by the Business Development Manager.
Qualifications |
